Arctic Monkeys的歌詞十分令人玩味。想到當時年紀輕輕還未成年的主唱Alex Turner能有這番洞察力，確實讓人激賞。他們的第一張專輯旋律本來就夠吸引我了，在了解他們的歌詞之後，這張專輯的立體感與真實性頓時相互建構出有別於旋律的另股吸引力。

以及對警方放任罪犯卻施暴於無辜孩童的指責
這首歌裡我最喜愛的一段莫過於

“I’m sorry officer is there a certain age you’re supposed to be?…
nobody told me”
簡單的一小段對話，卻能傳神地表達出缺乏照顧與教養的孩子的天真及悲哀
也許猴子們自己身為青少年，才對這樣的景況感觸深刻
Turner的詞寫得真好！（不過他用的俚語實在是...很難懂）

可以看出Alex藉這首歌除了諷刺一下那些被主流文化牽著走的人之外
